To assemble a glass ball into a lotion pump, place the glass ball inside the pump housing, specifically within the designated valve seat at the bottom of the chamber, before inserting the spring and piston. This glass ball acts as a one-way check valve, allowing lotion to flow up but not back down.
Key Assembly Steps:
1. Locate the Valve Seat: The pump housing (usually PP plastic) houses all components. The ball must sit in the bottom chamber to form a seal.
2. Insert the Ball: Drop the small glass ball into the housing so it rests in the seat at the bottom.
3. Insert Spring/Dip Tube: Place the suspension spring over the ball, followed by the piston rod, and connect the dip tube, ensuring a secure seal to prevent leaks.
Verify Function: Ensure the ball can move up and down slightly to open/close the channel during actuation.
