1.High hardness: This is its most distinctive characteristic. Through specific heat treatment processes (such as quenching and low-temperature tempering), the surface hardness of this material can typically reach above HRC 58, and some even exceed HRC 60. High hardness means it can withstand tremendous pressure and surface wear.
2.Excellent wear resistance: The high hardness directly results in outstanding wear resistance, preventing the formation of pits, deformation or excessive wear under long-term, high-speed friction and rolling conditions, thereby extending the service life.
3.Excellent corrosion resistance: The base material is made of stainless steel (such as 440C, 440B, 420, 431, etc.), which enables it to have better anti-corrosion ability than ordinary carbon steel balls in humid, acidic, alkaline and other corrosive environments.
4.High load-bearing capacity: While maintaining a certain degree of toughness, it is capable of withstanding high static loads and dynamic loads.
5.Dimension accuracy and surface finish: As precision components, they usually have strict dimensional tolerances (such as G10-G100 grades), extremely high roundness, and extremely low surface roughness to ensure smooth operation and low noise.
Common Materials
440C Stainless Steel: This is the most widely used high-hardness stainless steel ball material. It has a high carbon content (about 1%) and a chromium content of approximately 17%. After quenching, it can achieve extremely high hardness (HRC 58-62), while also possessing excellent corrosion resistance and wear resistance. It is hailed as "the bearing steel among stainless steels".
420 stainless steel: With an appropriate carbon content, its hardness can reach HRC 50-55. It has good corrosion resistance and certain toughness, and is commonly used in applications with slightly lower requirements.
